Electrical Test & Tag
Electrical equipment should be inspected and tested at intervals appropriate to how and where it is used. General workplace electrical equipment is tested in accordance with AS/NZS 3760:2022, with higher-risk or frequently moved equipment generally requiring more frequent inspection than equipment operating in protected environments.
We mainly schedule test-and-tag work during weeknights or other low-activity periods, when equipment can be safely unplugged without interrupting consultations, treatment, administration or other essential services. This is particularly important where a large number of computers, appliances and portable electrical devices need to be disconnected, tested and returned to service.
Weekend Electrical can test and tag applicable equipment including computers, monitors, printers, kitchen appliances, cleaning equipment, extension leads, portable tools and other plug-in electrical devices. Each item can be identified, labelled and recorded to assist with maintenance scheduling and future inspections.
Medical electrical equipment requires a different approach from ordinary workplace appliances and may be subject to AS/NZS 3551:2012, manufacturer requirements and the facility’s biomedical maintenance program. Where specialised servicing, calibration or performance verification is required, this should be carried out by appropriately trained personnel.
