Medical Imaging & Scanner Upgrades

Medical imaging centres are often booked weeks in advance, which can make replacing or upgrading major equipment extremely difficult. Even when newer MRI, CT, X-ray or other imaging technology becomes available, taking a room out of service during the working week may mean cancelled appointments, lost revenue and significant disruption to patients and staff.

Weekend Electrical can help organise major electrical works and planned shutdowns over an entire weekend. While the existing machine is removed and the replacement equipment is positioned by the relevant specialist contractors, our electricians can carry out the required electrical isolation, disconnection, power-supply alterations, cabling and reconnection work within our scope. By coordinating the electrical work around the equipment changeover, the objective is to have the room and supporting infrastructure ready for commissioning and normal operation when the clinic reopens on Monday.

Although a fault in a private imaging centre may not always constitute a medical emergency, downtime can quickly create major operational problems in an already heavily booked facility. A loss of power, failed lighting, damaged power supply or electrical fault affecting supporting equipment can delay multiple appointments and place additional pressure on waiting rooms and staff.

Weekend Electrical’s familiarity with medical and diagnostic environments allows us to respond quickly to these electrical problems, investigate faults and restore affected electrical services as efficiently as possible. We can also assist with electrical components associated with medical equipment—such as power supplies, specialist lamps, fuses and supporting circuits—where the work falls within our electrical scope, while equipment-specific servicing or calibration remains with the appropriate biomedical or manufacturer-authorised technician. This coordinated approach helps minimise downtime and get the imaging facility back to normal operation as quickly as practicable.
