About Weekend Electrical
Weekend Electrical is a Western Power-authorised electrical contractor with a specialised focus on providing electrical services to medical and healthcare facilities.
Our team, licensed for electrical work in Western Australia through Building and Energy WA and licensed for refrigeration and air-conditioning work through the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC), brings more than 20 years of experience across commercial and institutional environments. This includes Class 5 consulting offices, Class 6 pharmacies, and Class 9a healthcare facilities, including applicable dental and day-surgery centres, as classified under the National Construction Code (NCC).
As a member of the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), Weekend Electrical has been structured around three core priorities: quality, efficiency, and safety.
Our focus on quality and efficiency is reflected in the way we schedule maintenance and project work outside normal operating hours, including Saturdays and Sundays, to minimise disruption to healthcare facilities and their patients.
In medical and healthcare environments, safety extends beyond electrical compliance. We place particular emphasis on hygiene, contamination control, and maintaining a clean work area. Tools and equipment are cleaned and sanitised as appropriate, and work areas are left clean and ready for continued clinical use—standards that can be expected from a contractor dedicated to healthcare environments.
Clients can expect their electrical services to be scheduled across four dedicated service periods:
A — Electrical & Air-Conditioning Projects: Planned primarily for weekends to minimise disruption to normal business operations.
B — Electrical Emergency Services: Available 24/7 for urgent electrical faults, power outages, and other electrical emergencies.
C — Electrical Testing & Tagging: Scheduled on weeknights between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm, allowing testing to be completed outside normal operating hours.
D — Electrical Thermal Imaging: Thermal inspection of electrical switchboards, accompanied by a documented report suitable for maintenance records and, where required, insurance purposes.
At the completion of each project, call-out, or testing activity, an electrical notice (Notice of Completion-Safety Certificate) will be submitted to Western Power, with a copy provided to the client for their records, providing the details of the work for claims and insurance related purposes, arranged visit once per year.
Maintaining electrical supply to security, communications, monitoring, and other critical infrastructure is treated as a priority wherever it is safe and technically practicable to do so.
While our business initially serviced a broad range of commercial properties, we made the decision to concentrate our capabilities on healthcare and medical facilities.
As a Western Power-authorised contractor, we have additional capability to investigate faults associated with the electrical supply and metering infrastructure. Where appropriate, we can document our findings and provide supporting reports that may assist clients when dealing with insurers following electrical faults or damage to equipment.
Safety, Security and Accountability
Our electrical workers are appropriately licensed and undergo relevant police-clearance requirements.
Where a client’s premises operate CCTV, access-control or other monitoring systems, our personnel work in accordance with the site’s security procedures and understand that their activities may be recorded by the client’s monitoring systems.
Weekend Electrical also maintains workplace fitness-for-duty procedures, including daily breath testing and random drug and alcohol testing where applicable, supporting a high standard of safety, security and professional conduct.
Our objective is simple: to provide medical facilities with a dependable electrical contractor that understands the importance of continuity, controlled access, patient safety and minimum disruption.

Our Focus
Built For Healthcare
Electrical work should be carried out under controlled isolation procedures, including lockout, tagging and testing before work begins. In busy commercial and medical facilities, this is sometimes overlooked to avoid interrupting normal operations. Weekend Electrical removes that pressure by scheduling work after hours, safely isolating the required circuits, and maintaining essential services such as security systems, refrigeration and temporary lighting where practicable. This allows electrical work to be completed safely, with minimal disruption to your facility.
